MRS College Scholarship
APPLICATION DEADLINE
APRIL 1, 2026

Only currently enrolled high school seniors who participate in band, choir,
or orchestra can apply for these scholarships. Home schooled students who are currently studying with a private teacher may also apply.
Babe Stewart Senior Scholarships: 1st place – $3,000; 2nd place – $1,500; 3rd place – $1,000
William A and Elizabeth Jones Scholarships: 1st place – $2,000

There are FOUR parts to the College Scholarship Application. ALL four parts must be completed in order for you to be considered for the scholarship.

  • You are required to participate in a live audition that will take place at Bartlesville High School on Thursday, April 23, 2026. Please prepare to present 5-7 minutes of music that best represents your ability as a musician.
  • Please ask your private or school music teacher to email a letter of recommendation on your behalf to wattj@bps-ok.org. Letters are due by Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
  • Please upload a pdf copy of your music to https://bit.ly/MRSscholarships.
  • For assistance with uploading materials please contact musicalresearchsociety@gmail.com . Materials must be received by Thursday, April 1, 2026.

Ruth Brush Music Composition Award

Only currently enrolled 6th thru 12th grade students can apply for this award.

$100 Prize for Grades 6-8 — $200 Prize for Grades 9-12

There are TWO parts to this application. Both parts must be completed in order for you to be considered for this award.

Stewart Music Camp Scholarship
APPLICATION DEADLINE
MAY 1, 2026

STUDENTS MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE SCHOOL MUSIC DEPARTMENT IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS SCHOLARSHIP.

  • Only currently enrolled 6th thru 11th grade students are eligible to apply for this award.
  • Only approved, qualified music camps such as OSU, OU, OKWU, TU, Arkansas, Interlochen, Inspiration Point, or Quartz Mountain will be considered for scholarship awards.
  • A total of $125 will be paid towards the cost of the camp if the cost is more than $125. If the cost is less than $125, the total fee for the camp will be paid.

Musical Research Society donates over $20,000 each year in scholarships and financial support for local music programs. Yearly gifts are given to the following organizations to support their music-related activities:

  • Bartlesville High School Band
  • Bartlesville High School Choir
  • Bartlesville High School Orchestra
  • Bartlesville Keyboard Orchestra
  • Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra Carnegie Link-Up Program
  • Children’s Musical Theatre
